Blue Ribbon Winner

Teaching

Don has begun to teach fish carving (in his prior working life he has done a lot of training) and offers the following:

  • The carving would be in his home in his workshop, using his tools, wood, paint, etc.
  • It would be a one-on-one course due to equipment limitations
  • The goal would be to produce one finished sculpture of the student's choice. In the process of doing the one piece, discussion of carving techniques for all types of fish will be provided.
  • Right now $350 seems a reasonable cost of this course.

Since this is a new endeavor, the time required to complete the carving is not precise. It seems likely it will take between 30 and 40 hours. Don's first students have done very well in their work to date. One is working on a rainbow trout, the other a black crappie.

As Don is retired, scheduling can be extremely flexible to meet the student's needs. If interested, please let him know through the contact page.
